Information We Collect
When you submit a case review or expungement eligibility form, we collect your phone number (required), and optionally your name and email address. We also collect:
- Charge type, court/jurisdiction, and charge timing you select on the form
- The page you submitted from (source URL)
- IP address (for rate limiting and fraud prevention)
- UTM parameters and referrer (for analytics)
How We Use Your Information
Your form submission is shared with up to three (3) participating licensed criminal defense attorneys in your area who may contact you by phone, text message, or email about your legal matter. We use your information solely to connect you with legal representation.
We do not:
- Sell your personal information to data brokers or third parties
- Use your information for purposes unrelated to legal representation
- Share your information with anyone other than participating attorneys
Consent to Contact
By submitting a form on this site, you provide prior express written consent to be contacted by phone call, text message, or email by one or more licensed attorneys regarding your legal matter. This consent is not a condition of receiving any service. Standard message and data rates may apply. You may revoke consent at any time by contacting us at support@virginiacourtfile.com.
Data Retention
We retain your submitted information for up to 12 months to facilitate attorney matching and follow-up. After 12 months, your data is deleted unless you request earlier deletion.
Court Data
All court statistics on this site are derived from publicly available Virginia court records via VirginiaCourtData.org. We do not publish individual defendant names or personal information.
Cookies & Analytics
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics (GA4) — anonymous site traffic analysis. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymous session recordings and heatmaps. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
We use cookies for admin authentication only. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or retargeting.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Delete your submitted information at any time
- Opt out of future contact by attorneys matched through our service
- Revoke consent to being contacted at any time

If you are a Virginia resident, you may have additional rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), including the right to opt out of the processing of your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Children's Privacy
This site is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
